Announcement    12/1 – Happy December (and Merry Cagemas)!

A few shop updates/notes.
Since I haven’t been very active on social media lately, and have barely mentioned the Epic Space Opera sale, I’ve left both listings on sale through this weekend.

Unfortunately, I’m a bit behind this week in packing and shipping. November Spooky Slumber Party, Natural History Sock Set and Sailor Moon #5 will ship at the beginning of next week. Sorry for the delay; it’s just me and my ongoing health issues the last two months that have been slowing me down. I start to feel like I’m on the mend and then it is back to feeling ill. (One step forward, two steps back kind of thing. Or so it feels.) I’m going to dye December Spooky and Natural History this weekend so they can ship earlier in the month. Sadly, I’ve already experienced USPS delays in both sending and receiving orders (including Priority Mail). But as we move into December and gift buying/gift making, if you have any concerns on when an item will ship, would like to upgrade your order to Priority, etc., please send me an Etsy convo. Also, the first batch of Epic Space Opera colorways will start shipping next week as well.

In other news, it is also the first day of Cagemas. As promised on the insert, here is a list of the films featured in this year’s installment (in no particular):

Zandalee (1991)
Renfield (2023)
The Best of Times (1981 tv pilot)
Moonstruck (1987)
Bangkok Dangerous (2008)
Pig (2021)
Bringing Out the Dead (1999)
The Old Way (2023)
Sympathy for the Devil (2023)
Adaptation. (2002)
The Family Man (2000)
The Retirement Plan (2023)
History of Swear Words (2021)
Between Worlds (2018)
Kiss of Death (1995)
Lord of War (2005)
Sonny (2002)
The Weatherman (2005)

I’m sure you’ll notice the list does not consist of 25 films total. Without giving too much away, there are some days with colorways based on things other than Cage’s films. I consider those days as wild card days where, if you are watching a Cage movie a day or the film that inspired each day’s colorway, you can watch one that is not listed above. Or, you can rewatch one of the films featured in last year’s Cagemas. They include:

Snake Eyes
Con Air
Face/Off
Vampire's Kiss
Raising Arizona
The Wicker Man
Valley Girl
Leaving Las Vegas
Honeymoon in Vegas
Willy's Wonderland
Mandy
Color Out of Space
Prisoners of the Ghostland
National Treasure
Primal
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
Mom & Dad
Gone in 60 Seconds
Drive Angry
Wild At Heart
Ghost Rider
Red Rock West
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
Pay the Ghost
The Rock

I figured I’d also include some info about some of the teas included in this year’s installment, just in case of allergies or if you’re watching your caffeine consumption.

Eastern Shore Tea Co. Teas:

To brew: Pour water at a boil over one tea bag per cup. Steep for five minutes. Remove tea bag and sweeten to taste.

Black Raven (Regular and Decaf, Decaf will be mentioned on the label) – A blackcurrant blend flavored black tea (inspired by Edgar Allen Poe)

Blood Orange (Regular and Decaf) – Blood orange flavored black tea

Gingerman (Regular and Decaf) – Flavored black tea that includes vanilla, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.

Christmas Spice (contains caffeine) – Flavored black tea with cinnamon, cloves, orange, lemon, and lime.

Jack Frost (caffeine free) – Red bush (Rooibos), peppermint, spearmint, and vanilla.

All Eastern Shore Tea Co. teas are gluten and pesticide free. Individually foil wrapped, square, tagless teabags use less paper and are whitened by oxygen. Full leaf tea is cut to size so teabags have the same flavor as loose teas.

If you find yourself wanting more of any of the flavors in this year’s installment or would like to try other flavors, you can find them at Baltimore Coffee and Tea Company (baltcoffee.com).

(And just in case anyone was wondering. I’m not sponsored or affiliated with Eastern Shore Tea Co. or Baltimore Coffee and Tea Company in any way. All teas included in Cagemas and shop orders were purchased by me. I’m just a fan and like to include some local, to my home state of Maryland, teas.)

Some notes about Cagemas 2024:

If you have seen previous shop announcements or follow me on social media, you may have seen me post about being ill since the beginning of October which was some of the worst timing. It not only caused delays but also put a strain on getting Halloween countdowns and Cagemas finished and out the door. It was super stressful and not something I want to experience or repeat again. In fact, despite already deciding on next year’s Halloween advent theme and positive feedback regarding continuing Cagemas, the whole thing this year really made me question if I wanted to do any advents in 2024 for fear of this happening again. (And also, the USPS delays and shenanigans seem to start earlier and earlier each year.) Hopefully lightning wont strike twice and this time next year will not be the same. After giving it some thought, I got to work on planning 2024’s Halloween advent (Horror Movie Survival Guide) and December’s Cagemas. I’ve already started dyeing for Cagemas 2024 and plan on having all but a few of the colorways dyed, wound into minis (I dye full 100g skeins and then make them into mini skeins. It is more labor intensive and time consuming, but I prefer to dye full skeins instead of a batch of minis. It is just a personal preference.), labeled, and ready to go by the time advents usually go on sale/pre-order which is around April/May. (I'm leaving a few days open for any newer movies that I see during the year because as you probably already know, Cage makes a lot of movies, lol.) That way they can ship in September/October before any holiday/seasonal USPS delays. At first I thought I’d have to wait for seasonal/holiday items to be in stores or available for purchase (in regards to some extras), but in reality that’s not necessary. A Twix bar, for example, will taste the same whether it is in the usual wrapper or a holiday designed one. And if you’re curious, so far for Cagemas 2024, I have already dyed colorways for the following films:

Stolen (2012)
8MM (1999)
Peggy Sue Got Married (1986)
Trespass (2011)

And I think that is all for now. If you’ve read this novel of a post, thanks for taking the time.

11/25 - Now through Cyber Monday (11/27) both the annual Epic Space Opera installment and the Epic Space Opera Holiday installment are listed at 20% off.

I added these installments to the shop a bit earlier than planned for anyone shopping small this weekend. Thanks for all your support, especially during this tumultuous year.

***Bumping this up for Cagemas***
For those who have purchased Cagemas Calendars (2022), here is a list of films that have inspired colorways (in no particular order). If you'd like to know the films in order, please send me a convo and I'll forward that information along. I just don't want to ruin the surprise for anyone, but also figured a list would be helpful if you'd like to watch throughout the month.

Snake Eyes
Con Air
Face/Off
Vampire's Kiss
Raising Arizona
The Wicker Man
Valley Girl
Leaving Las Vegas
Honeymoon in Vegas
Willy's Wonderland
Mandy
Color Out of Space
Prisoners of the Ghostland
National Treasure
Primal
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
Mom & Dad
Gone in 60 Seconds
Drive Angry
Wild At Heart
Ghost Rider
Red Rock West
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
Pay the Ghost
The Rock

A note regarding USPS/shipping: I usually print shipping labels the evening before an order is set to ship. On occasion I may print shipping labels the day of shipping if I know I'll be able to make a trip to the PO later in the day, but for the most part, it is the evening before. If it has been 3 or 4 days since you received a shipping confirmation and you notice that your order has not received a tracking update and/or is still marked "pre-transit," please let me know so that I can look into the matter.

DTO = Dyed-to-Order
RTS = Ready-to-Ship

Base Yarn info is provided in all listings.
Please click on the "Learn more about this
item" link to view full listing info.

Unfortunately, I'm no longer taking wholesale orders at this time. But, there may be some yarns still available at certain yarn stores. My last wholesale orders were to Wild Hand in PA (self-striping minis) and to Fibre Space in VA (full skein self-striping).

*Please call ahead for availability, just to be on the safe side!
